Between 2023 and 2024, the research focused on two aspects of the intimate-collective work of reparation: re-membering (remembering the sensitive experience of inseparability and re-membering vital realities) and restoration (rest: deep rest, surrender and submission; and re-story-action: self-repair of biographical illusions as a microscopic investment situated in historical reparation). Committed to creating antidote experiences for the current pervasive-invasive affects of helplessness and disenchantment manifested in the exhaustion and dulling of contemporary sensibilities, the Rituals of Support & Enchantment research led to experimentation with states of rest and nesting, on the one hand, and re-flight and flocking, on the other, seeking ways to unlearn ingrained systemic mechanisms and reconnect with embodied wisdom.
The durational performance BANDO activates this state of re-flight and support through the practice-game ANDbodiment, with members of the AND Collective residing in Portugal and guest artists.
