As introductory elements, I use four square white sheets, separated by a small margin, on which I place objects and materials found while walking through streets and beaches, as well as visiting abandoned houses and factories, mainly in Vila Nova de Gaia. The configuration that rises beneath and among the leaves emerges, similar to and in continuity with previous creations, from experimental and intuitive practices, being procedural in its construction and reflection, performative in content, and resulting in an exhibition device. It does not correspond to specific starting points, but rather delves into the unknown and the opening of a myriad of subjective and multi-faceted narratives.
In ‘Composition | ploughing the soil with drifts and mysteries,’ the gesture is a fragile force, breathing is a continuity, and the body is a constructive and compositional presence. In the end, we have a composition of fragments that were once forgotten and are now, here, remembered and honoured. For although not everything matters, sometimes almost everything matters when almost nothing seems to matter.
