Challenging themselves to create an autobiographical performance in collaboration with sensitive individuals, Be celebrates the re.birth of their queer identity, mapping memories that evoke the need to re.configure the body and re.discover their voice to translate what is intangible to the eye. RE.SET reflects on memory, intimacy, rupture, and liberation, drawing inspiration from the Queercore movement, from figures like Lene Lovich, Diamanda Galás, Siouxie Soux, Grace Jones, and Nina Hagen, and from the culture of love proposed by bell hooks in “all about love: New Visions”, to incite pleasure, reclamation, disobedience, and the celebration of a voice that decentralizes me like an orgasm – I am a phoenix medusa, a lesbian-hybrid mouth.
