Bestiaire (tear) is a solo project that treats the notion of becoming as a fluid yet ambiguous state, in relation with feminist science fiction and queer practices of identity. The project uses the body and elements such as fabric, sound, light and text, to address questions of empathy and synesthesia. Examining ways we can compose multiple identities from contradictory fragments, the work elaborates on the animal human dichotomy, beyond the Anthropocene. In the becoming (with the) animal, which does not simply pass through resemblance -to which resemblance would rather be an obstacle, there is a fascination for multiplicity, a fascination both for the outside and the inside that inhabits us. Bestiaire (tear) explores the space between similarity and difference while looking at the body as an irreducible complexity that cracks, breaks and transforms. A first version of the solo bestiaire was presented in Onassis foundation, in march 2023. The residency in Devir-Capa is allowing the project to grow and be part of a larger multidirectional research that nourishes different formats to connect and to address the audience.
