“There’s a hole running through the centre of my stomach. You must have all felt a bit awkward because you can probably see it.”
This is Alex’s story, told directly to the audience, which begins with a bright and smiling tone: he talks about his wife, the visit to the south of France, his daughter, and the sea.
He engages us with his natural, happy tone, asking questions. But this contentment of his gives way to the pain that torns him apart, revealing his innermost catastrophe.
